Bernardo Nadal-Ginard, MD, PhD

Prof. Bernardo Nadal-Ginard, MD, PhD holds a position as Visiting Professor and Consultant Scientist at Magna Graecia University.

He has over 30 years of managerial and administrative experience as Full professor and Chairman of some large academic Departments, Director of the MD-PhD combined Harvard-MIT program, trained numerous MD and PhD scientists, a senior Howard Hughes Investigator, head of research at the CNIC in Madrid, New York Medical College, Mount Sinai Medical School, NY, and Liverpool JM University.

He has been PI of several Program Project Grants from the USA NIH, Project leader on FP7 CARE-MI (Health-F5-2010-242038) and Partner/Project leader of ENDOSTEM (Health-F5-2010-241440).

He has over 300 scientific publications most of them in first rate multidisciplinary and cardiovascular field leading journals. His publications have received over 35,000 citations. While being one of the pioneers of molecular Cardiology and in particular of cardiac development and differentiation, since 2000 he has contributed seminal publications to identify and characterize myocardial stem cells.
